Built in 1901, this notable stone home boasted original woodwork, stained glass windows, and a carriage house. Unfortunately, all the bathrooms and the kitchen were in sad shape. The second floor featured four bedrooms and two baths, with little to no distinction. The third floor rooms served as attic and guest space. Task number one for LMD was to re-plan the third floor for use as guest bedrooms, with an open area to gather and a new bathroom complete with a shower featuring a wireless speaker. A master bathroom was created, highlighted by a steam shower, soaking tub, and double vanity. A dressing room with its own washer/dryer was added adjacent to the master bedroom, using the space from one of the spare bedrooms. All spaces were updated with new LED recessed lighting, new fireplace surrounds, wood shutters, and refinished wood floors. Lastly the kitchen and butler’s pantry were given a complete face lift with new cabinetry, counters, lighting, tile, and appliances. Careful attention was given to the cabinetry details to meld with the original details of the adjacent spaces. The homeowners’ whimsical arts and crafts are displayed throughout the home, giving this old home a new vibrant personality.
