The scope of the project was presented to Liz Murphy Design, to create a means to store and showcase the homeowner’s LP record and CD collection, in conjunction with various pieces of audio record playing equipment, within the master bedroom, that was built to provide an acoustically correct listening space. No small task. Jessica studied the geometry and the record collection and prepared three dimensional studies of wall mounted shelving components that would not only support the weight of the records and CD’s but would artfully complement the architecture and materials inherently comprising the master bedroom. Working with a custom woodworker, the natural oak shelves were fabricated to conform to the curved walls of the space, adding depth, warmth and utility within the composition.
